Purpose of Role

The Retail Marketing Specialist will support the Global Marketing approach and execution into region and will play a key role in supporting the sales and marketing business imperatives and growth plans for the McLaren Brand in the next 10 years.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop a solid understanding of the Global marketing and brand strategy defined by the global team.
  • Development & ongoing maintenance of Retailer Marketing Standards for the business areas that would include Brand, Product, Experiences/Event, CRM, Digital, Qualified, MSO, Aftersales, MLP …
  • Support the network development team with the annual operating standards by feeding in the brand and marketing content.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Brand Strategy Manager, acting as the subject matter expert for retailer brand application.
  • Management of the McLaren Marketing Suite including the provision of monthly user engagement reports
  • Development of the McLaren Marketing Suite Vision allowing McLaren to communicate with Retailers more effectively via a digital platform.
  • Working in close collaboration with the brand team on data asset management strategies, compliance rules & daily operations (asset approval, asset uploading, asset cleansing)
  • Working in close collaboration with Racing in finding synergies between existing DAM systems for asset sharing
  • Coordinating the content displays and POS materials across the global franchise network including Woking Window, Gallery Scene Panels and Lightboxes
  • Ensuring retailer toolkits are always up to date and in line with McLaren brand standards (e.g. stationery)
  • Ownership and management of global marketing bulletins (internal communications)
  • Overseeing and approving retailer briefing packs which are produced by marketing stakeholders.
  • Preparing templates and presentations for regional meetings, briefings and conferences
  • Supporting the Regional Managers with weekly project summaries for senior stakeholders / executives
  • Ownership and management of Retail News newsletter with the aim of growing engagement rates
  • Coordinating the annual retailer marketing planning cycle including the quarterly updates
  • Development and management of global retailer marketing planners (templates) ensuring consistent activity planning & tracking against agreed KPI’s.
  • Agency Management
  • Project-based budget management
  • MTC based with 25% travel national and international.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Marketing with high-end/prestige brands, preferably in the automotive sector.
  • Experience in steering, executing and measuring success (reporting) of new product launch and marketing plans in markets.
  • Ability to project-plan with limited budgets and resource, maximizing results and ROI.
  • Ability to influence senior management and present relevant management information to support decision making and delivery of strategic business goals.
  • A pro-active mindset that generates creative solutions to strategic and tactical business challenges, and support Sales goals and objectives.
  • A passion for learning and understanding the McLaren Brand, its unique positioning and heritage.
  • Fluent in English, a second language being of advantage.
  • Financially adept in managing budgets and commercial KPIs.
  • An accomplished project manager, with strong planning skills and ability to motivate teams to deliver common goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
