The global racing enterprise boasts over 250 race wins, four INDYCAR Series championships, five INDY NXT titles, one Indy Pro 2000 and one USF2000 championship, and has captured victory five times at the famed Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. The team is now looking to expand into the pinnacle of motorsport through our Andretti Cadillac Team.
Job description:
We have an opportunity for a Head of Mechanical Systems Design to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will you will be guided by our Head of PU integration and collaborate with our heads of design to ensure that all our systems combine to give the best possible car performance. You will be responsible for providing company leadership for the reliable performance and constant improvement of all on car systems. Principal Accountabilities
- Lead the layout and specification of the car’s systems to meet overall performance requirements.
- Lead the Systems design group to ensure designs are delivered to quality and on time.
- Prepare schemes of major car systems for analysis and detail design.
- To provide technical support to the systems designers and ensure best design practice is achieved.
- Liaise with and select suppliers of system components.
- To support the development of future cars working with the other Heads of design departments.
- To champion sustainable manufacture without sacrificing car performance.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of the principals of race car system performance.
- Experience of cooling system design.
- Experience of fuel system design.
- Experience of hydraulic system design.
- Strong leadership skills with solid experience of technical management and team development.
- Ability to plan and manage your group’s workloads.
- Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and comfortable working independently, while meeting challenging deadlines.
- Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.)
- Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
