The Role
GM Motorsports Performance Engineering is seeking a Motorsports Vehicle Testing and Calibration Engineer to join our growing program. Working with the GM Motorsports Data Acquisition group to support Nascar Cup, Xfinity, Truck, and IndyCar programs you will instrument and record data required during all stages of life: on track, wind tunnel, and lab testing. Test data analysis will be required during and immediately following each test/race. Travel to the races on a regular basis will not be required but live support at all test sessions and some key races may be requested.
What You’ll Do

Instrument test vehicles prior to and during track and/or lab testing with GM owned equipment

Record all data required during on track and lab testing for GM Motorsports group and GM supported teams.

Support, troubleshoot, and repair sensors, wiring, and issues to GM owned data acquisition systems prior to, during, and after any track or lab testing.

Collaborate with various members of the program teams to meet program goals

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

2+ years of racing / high performance vehicle experience
-
Cosworth Pi based data acquisition systems and software experience
-
Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and/or Aerodynamics
-
Ability to handle multiple programs efficiently

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Bachelor of Science in Engineering

Experience with race vehicle data acquisition system installation, calibration, development, and analysis

Wiring experience with Autosport, Souriau, Molex, and Amphenol style connectors

Wind Tunnel experience
-
Knowledge of Raychem tubing, boots, and wire protection products and ability to properly implement them

Ability to build, repair, and test small wiring looms and sensor extensions

Sensor maintenance, calibration, and designed

Understanding of CAN based sensor and data acquisition system wiring
