The Opportunity:

A fabulous opportunity for an experienced, Trackside Systems Engineer to join the small yet growing, dedicated and talented team at Lola as we embark on the next phase of the adventure. The role of the Trackside Systems Engineer will collaborate closely with the broader Engineering team to ensure the car operates correctly and reliably from a systems perspective across all events.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, calibrating, and optimising the electrical systems and sensors, to guarantee the car operates safely and reliably.
  • Uploading and maintaining the correct software versions on the car and systems.
  • Support DIL sessions, including guaranteeing systems readiness for a session and preparing calibration files as needed.
  • Compile detailed post-event reports, including investigation of issues found during running of the car, as well as development and implementation of corrective measures.
  • Maintain all trackside electrical systems, including off-car systems.
  • Fault identification and rectification on the low- and high-voltage systems.
  • Attend and support rig testing, as necessary.
  • Attend regular Performance Review and Project Review meetings to track progress and ensure alignment across technical areas.
  • Contribute to the Project Faults reporting and rectification process.
  • Contribute to Project Technical Operating documentation.

Technical Skills required:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a trackside role within top-tier motorsport such as F1, FE, or LMP, working on high- and low- voltage systems.
  • Experience with TAG Ecosystem: ATLAS, System Monitor. vTAG exposure, an advantage.
  • Experience in programming and calibrating ECU datasets in control system.
  • Experience in programming and analysis languages e.g. Matlab, Python, etc.

Qualifications & Experience required:

  • Degree Level or commensurate work experience
  • Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical/Electronic or Aeronautical engineering degree desirable
  • Software / Project Management experience desirable
  • An interest in and understanding of engineering/motorsport.

The Successful Candidate might be:

  • An existing Trackside Systems Engineer in a motorsport/ automotive company
  • A Trackside Systems Engineer who has acquired the appropriate experience, skills & knowledge.
  • An experienced engineer with the relevant skills and knowledge

Role Location & Hours:

  • The role will be based at the Silverstone, Lola Facility with the requirement to travel as required. The successful applicant for the role will need to be adaptable and flexible to working hours including both evenings and weekends; taking into account the requirement to attend events. A normal working week is 40 hrs, 8 hrs a day.
