Systems Administrator

Our team of hundreds of skilled experts keep Formula 1 moving. You could play a vital part as a Systems Administrator to ensure Formula 1’s IT Systems are correctly commissioned, maintained and operated so that it continues to meet Formula 1’s on-going Business and Production objectives.

Reporting into the IT Systems Architect and Team Manager, you will:

  • Make appropriate changes and additions to the IT Systems infrastructure within Change management processes and SOX controls
  • Adhere to internal and external governance including but not limited to SOX, ISO27001 and PCI-DSS at all times. 
  • Document IT systems and assist the documentation process within the department.
  • Drive innovation in IT, reviewing current technology offerings and identifying improvements within department responsibilities.
  • Manage projects through lifecycle, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders engaged throughout.
  • Manage and Maintain back up and recoverability testing of the IT Systems in line with department policies and governance regulations.
  • Appropriate hand over projects to support team including full documentation and walkthroughs where needed
  • Respond in a flexible and adaptive to supporting business requirements, when ad hoc requests are made.
  • Liaise with equipment and software vendors to specify maintenance contracts and SLA’s
  • Liaise with equipment and software vendors as part of on-going maintenance and upgrades
  • Monitor and maintain the IT Systems for the IT Infrastructure department across fixed sites, cloud and at Grand Prix events
  • Maintain the IT Infrastructure Systems so that it is compliant with current data protections regulations (e.g. GDPR) and current financial compliance (e.g. SOX)
  • Maintain infrastructure in line with IT Systems disaster recovery plan.
  • Provide and maintain a secure IT operating environment for the business
  • Produce root cause analysis reports in case of failures and issues
  • Provide user support as necessary within the organisation, and act as point of escalation for support team
  • Be available to work on IT systems outside of usual ‘Business Hours’, both planned and unplanned.
  • Travel when required to Formula 1’s business sites and partners premises.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the IT Industry, and consider proactively how these may be incorporated into the IT Systems Infrastructure

    • Fully conversant with full MS 365 suite including Exchange 365 and Azure AD
    • Server Operating Systems, SQL
    • Anti-Virus, Deployment and Backup Applications
    • Web-Services, Intranet and Data Feeds
    • Finance and HR systems
    • Administrative Business Systems
    • Security and Telephony Systems

Specification

  • Degree, HND/C in IT related Subject or relevant experience
  • Experience in a technically challenging role
  • MS 365
  • SQL & MS Exchange
  • Azure AD

Desirable

  • Industry recognised certifications in relevant subject category
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals including routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Experience with Virtualisation and Cloud based solutions
  • MS Dynamics 365
