Construction Project Manager

For many fans of Formula One, the sport exists between lights and chequered flag on a Sunday afternoon. It begins and ends with the exploits of the drivers on the track. But this is merely the tip of the spear. The reality of modern F1 is that of a complex and intertwined operation, every part of which needs to perform near its limit if success is to be achieved. From the pit crew searching for the ultimate repeatable pit stop, to the inspiration of the designers, the application of engineers and the herculean efforts of an army of fabricators and machinists. Much of our success is thanks to the diversity of thought and spectrum of skill sets held within the team, our ability to recognise unique contributions from individual team members is just a part of why we love what we do.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our Buildings and Estate Project Management team based at the Red Bull Technology Campus in Milton Keynes. This opportunity is a 18 month Fixed Term Contract and will form an integral part of growing our Projects team, covering works across the Campus.

The Project Manager role will be integral to supporting the expansion of our dynamic F1 facilities. Either supporting the Project Lead or managing your own smaller projects, you will work with key stakeholders within the business to translate their requirements into buildable solutions.

As you would expect with F1, our facilities as well as our cars are constantly evolving, and you will form a key part of the PM team responsible for ensuring that we deliver this evolution to the business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide a point of contact for any assigned projects, taking it from concept through delivery, handover, and operation.

  • Lead small design teams to generate schemes for projects that meet departmental needs.

  • Manage change through the construction period flagging risks and opportunities.

  • Apply for and push through necessary permissions for construction projects, including CDM and Building Control approval.

  • Develop project delivery programmes, managing risks to day-to-day activities.

  • Manage projects on site and ensure adherence to programme and budget.

  • Develop project H&S documentation, incl. reviewing contractor RAMS prior to works on site.

  • Ensure contractors work to CDM and other H&S regulations on site.

  • Ensure long term operation is considered in design.

Essential Competencies:

  • Experience of managing contractors.

  • Ability to create a complete set of building requirements from initial, basic supplier information to deliver a compliant and working solution.

  • Working knowledge of both Mechanical and Electrical building services systems.

  • Working knowledge of the whole construction process.

  • Familiar with managing activities in line with the Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.

  • Dynamic thinking and determination to see projects through.

Now from us - what you can expect to receive in return:

Not only is this a fantastic role, but it is also a fantastic team to work with here at Red Bull Technology.

A good salary is just the start, there are many other benefits too such as our bonus scheme, private health care cover, life assurance scheme, workplace nursery, company contributed pension scheme, on site gym & fitness classes, free food, and a cycle to work scheme; but above all, the job satisfaction doesn’t get any better than the feeling of making a real contribution to the function of our Grand Prix cars.
