You will work across an Assets and Connections Portfolio, producing and assuring high-quality electrical and circuit designs to an agreed scope. Your designs will need to meet UK Power Networks design and CDM standards and will be delivered to cost, time, and quality targets. You will work as part of a diverse team, providing design and ensuring compliance to design, CDM, and standards for the regulated network solutions for all APP and Connection schemes.

Job Requirements
- Significant experience in Electrical Engineering and power system design at 132KV, 33KV, 11KV, and intermediate voltages.
- Electrical/Circuit Engineering degree or STEM equivalent with relevant Electrical/Cable/OHL and substation design experience.
- Circuit engineering experience in EHV circuit design and construction works, ideally within the utility sector.
- Competence in resolving circuit network issues and a sound understanding of company policies and their application to this role.
- Experience with design processes and DNO, ENA, and International Design Standards including relevant operational aspects to deliver designs.
- Knowledge of the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and their application in this role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft desktop applications and AutoCAD or Microstation.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce electrical designs and circuit designs (below ground and in air) that can be constructed in compliance with standards and CDM requirements and assure others' designs.
- Deliver designs that conform to all relevant Codes of Practice and company and industry standards, particularly for UKPN Sub-stations, together with electrical design.
- Contribute to the production of technical, commercial, and contractual documents for procurement of engineering products.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company procedures.
- Comply with design assurance and audit processes.
- Prepare concept and developed designs from specifications and drawings within defined periods.
- Provide excellent service to the customer.
- Work as a team player within larger diverse teams and collaborate with operational teams to guarantee a smooth process from initial enquiry through to final energization and project closure.
Qualifications
- Electrical engineering experience in power system and protection design at various voltages.
- Electrical/Circuit Engineering degree or STEM equivalent with relevant design experience.
- Circuit engineering experience in EHV circuit design and construction works.
- Competence in resolving circuit network issues and knowledge of design processes and standards.
- Experience working with external engineering organizations and customers/partners.
- Good safety culture and understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft desktop applications and AutoCAD or Microstation.
- Awareness of current and technological developments in distribution plant and equipment.
