Job Description

Bosch Motorsport North America is looking to add to their high performance team with a Software Application Engineer to foster its growth in developing products specifically designed for Motorsport purposes. This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Technical responsibility of software application engineering (focus: MATLAB, Simulink) for Motorsport products
  • Interface with software development team in Germany to ensure worldwide alignment of software application activities relevant to Motorsport products
  • Monitoring of software development timelines in order to interface with responsible product leaders to ensure on-time delivery of expected deliverable content
  • Application support of Motorsport products on-site at customer, track, other development sites
  • Adherence to applicable software and product development processes to ensure expected high quality
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve both component and system level issues related to software implementation of Motorsport products in end use applications
  • Integration of continuous improvement practices into daily work to improve performance, timing, cost, and quality
  • Opportunity to expand role in additional product areas outside of software development, such as project management
  • Domestic and international travel up to 20% (20-30 days) per year (on-site at customer, track, other domestic and international development sites)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 2 or more years of experience in industry or equivalent (i.e. FSAE, Ecocar)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical (with software or controls emphasis), or equivalent
  • Experience working with hybrid and/or battery electric vehicles
  • Experience with programming and scripting including: MATLAB, Simulink, Python
  • Experience with data processing
  • Experience with simulation
  • Experience working directly with customers within the complete customer journey cycle
  • Hands-on automotive experience related to holistic vehicle system design and analysis (e.g. engine repair work/rebuilds, engine management, etc.)
  • Experience in using test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscope, CANalyzer, dSPACE and/or ETAS prototyping systems, etc.)
  • Experience with networks and related technologies (IP, cloud)
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics and debug software and electrical implementation issues
  • Industry experience in professional Motorsport, significant FSAE, or equivalent
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • German language skills
