Simulation & Modelling Engineer

In this role you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the vehicle and vehicle sub-systems models for vehicle dynamics and performance analysis purpose and you will be responsible for developing and maintaining simulation tools with the target of improving engineering methodologies, vehicle performance evaluation and optimization You will take the ownership of Vehicle Performance Group’s vTAG model development and maintenance (live and historic vehicle data processing) according to the track and simulator events calendar constraints

  • Ensure the functioning of Vehicle Performance group's vTAG model, vehicle models and simulation tools in a time-critical performance-orientated environment

  • Ensure that Vehicle Performance engineers benefit from adequate support to make the best usage of the simulation tools and models (live support and published documentation availability).

  • Engage in exploring new solutions for simulation-driven performance improvement

  • Provide technical expertise to support other Vehicle Performance groups’ simulation-related projects

  • Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the project

  • Always work in a professional manner regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department/team/sponsors

 

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

 

  • Strong knowledge of numerical simulation techniques, experience in optimal control applications will be considered beneficial
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and vehicle modelling
  • Experience using Adams, Dymola or other Modelica-based modelling tools, Matlab/Simulink would be considered beneficial
  • Experience using VI-Grade simulation solutions would be considered beneficial
  • Experience using other coding environments would be beneficial (for instance Python, C#)
  • Proven competences in simulation related to engineering field, preferably within a Motorsport environment. Familiarity with data acquisition and analysis tools and methodologies would be considered an asset
  • Excellent communicative and collaborative skills are essential
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work under pressure, with a minimum of supervision, to the highest levels of accuracy and quality
  • Strong degree in an Engineering Discipline (engineering, maths, physics, etc.)
  • Fluency in English
