What to Expect
We are recruiting for a Paint Rework/SMART Repair Team Member to join our Paint Shop in Woking. As the Paint Rework/SMART Repair Team Member you will be your pivotal in the automotive industry, requiring a blend of technical skill, precision, and an eye for aesthetics to restore or enhance the vehicle's appearance.
What You'll Do
- Understanding and following detailed work instructions relating to the painting of vehicles
- Ensuring that all station operations on each vehicle are completed to the required quality standard
- Ensuring that all operations are completed to the required timescale
- Participating in continuous improvement activities as requested
- Understanding and adhering to the McLaren Values and help grow the Automotive Brand.
- Mixing paints to the right colour and consistency
- Applying several coats to the car, including primers, colours and affect coats.
- Undertaking the exterior polishing of vehicles using the correct materials and tools
- Inspecting finished vehicles to ensure no defects, perfect finish every time
- Flattening, polishing, and touching up
- Ensuring there are no defects on work produced
- Preparing and masking vehicles/ panels for paintwork
What You'll Bring
- Quality focused with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience in Preparing paint spraying equipment is desirable
- Experience in Applying several coats to the car, including primers, colours
- Prior experience of Quality focused with meticulous attention to detail would be an advantage
- Undertake the exterior polishing of vehicles using the correct materials and tools would be an advantage
- Prior experience with Inspecting finished vehicles to ensure no defects, perfect finish every time is an advantage
- Prior experience of flattening, polishing, and touching up is desirable
- Prior experience of maintaining and cleaning equipment is an advantage
- Prior experience on ensuring there are no defects on work produced is an advantage
- Prior experience in Masking vehicles in preparation for paintwork is an advantage.
- Previous experience in SMART repairing is desirable. SMART repair, Small to Medium Area Repair, local ‘blow-in’ using an air brush/Mini Jet
- Previous experience in Paint less dent removal Minor dent repair and dent removal without the need to paint, using ‘cold metal’ repair method
