Hendrick Technical Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and talented Level 1 Junior Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Junior Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in assisting with the development and implementation of innovative design solutions. You will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and manufacturing personnel, to contribute to the creation of advanced products and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements and design objectives.
  • Assist in creating detailed technical drawings, 2D/3D models, and specifications using Siemens NX and Teamcenter software.
  • Participate in product design reviews and contribute ideas for design improvements.
  • Conduct research to gather relevant technical data and information to support design decisions.
  • Assist in performing engineering calculations as needed.
  • Support the development and testing of prototypes, documenting findings, and providing feedback.
  • Design of both Automotive systems and tooling.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate materials and components for the design.
  • Assist with the documentation and maintenance of design files and records.
  • Feel comfortable with a dynamic and fast-paced, highly variable business.
  • Work within an ISO and PPAP quality domain.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience post-graduation preferred.
  • Knowledge of CAD software, preferably Siemens NX.
  • FEA experience specifically with Ansys a plus.
  • Familiarity with engineering principles and design fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Enthusiasm for innovation and creativity in design solutions.
  • Understanding and practical experience with Automotive Electrical systems.
  • Project experience in Motorsports, Defense, or Automotive fields is a plus.
  • This role subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements and as such, U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or U.S. Person Status Required.
