Internal Communications Manager

We are looking for an Internal Communications Manager who will be responsible for the execution of the employee communications approach that has been designed to connect employees to the business strategy, values, supporting a high-performance culture, and deliver an engaging employee communications experience.

You will be an in-house journalist and storyteller who builds relationships across company functions - in order to discover compelling stories that fit into an overall company narrative. You will transform these stories into engaging content assets, working with our Marketing, HR and Transformation to bring to life.

This role will be the driving force to deliver engaging and impactful internal communications to help Williams Racing’s diverse workforce feel connected, informed and motivated.

You will promote a positive public image and control the dissemination of information. Working closely with our Public Relations team, you will ensure our internal communication messages and external communications are aligned.

As the Internal Communications Manager you will:

  • Undertake a full internal communications review, the output of which will formulate a modern, fit for purpose strategy.

  • Establish an internal communications strategy with Key Stakeholders

  • Continuously building audience insight to drive strategies, channel selection, content, and messaging

  • Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders.

  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a staff intranet, newsletters and internal town halls if required. You may also be required to work on the layout of content.

  • Work with senior leaders to develop content and presentations for Business Updates and Race Debriefs.

  • Enhance factory communications and introduce ways of measuring its impact and increase frontline engagement.

  • Be responsible for the end to end processes of key internal communications events such as the weekly, all staff town halls.

  • Handle the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organisational perception and reputation. This will be done alongside our PR department.

  • Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form.

  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organisation.

  • Plan and deliver internal communications for small and large projects

  • Ensure appropriate communications metrics are recorded to review and monitor the effectiveness of communications with the objective of continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Experience of developing and delivering Corporate employee/internal communications.

  • A great storyteller with excellent English language writing and editing skills, able to tailor complex and technical content to different audiences.

  • Excellent editorial and copywriting abilities, including long form and short form content.

  • Ability to develop and deliver communications to tackle problems and promote issues.

  • Knowledge of how to engage through various communication styles.

  • Highly organised, able to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • A self-starter, who can work autonomously and take ownership of delivery.

  • Experience writing content for large scale change initiatives.
