Purpose of the Role:

Responsible for the build and assembly of Formula One car Hydraulic systems. Working across multiple functions to assemble and sign off test Hydraulic car sub-assemblies, individual car components including life cycle checking and assembly of hydraulic associated support equipment within The McLaren Technology Centre clean room environment.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • The build and preparation of Formula One car hydraulic systems and components.
  • Operation of hydraulic test rigs & associated software to validate assemblies fit for track running & dyno usage.
  • Build and sign off testing of Steering racks, main and gearbox hydraulic sets, Diff and clutch actuators, DRS actuator assemblies, pit related equipment and damper assemblies. 
  • Carry out and maintain records of general maintenance and servicing on dyno and sign off rigs relating to the Hydraulic department.
  • Build and sign off heritage and previous car project components.
  • Training of future staff within the hydraulics department.
