Job Purpose

Equipment Service Technician (Mold Maintenance) is responsible for supporting equipment / Mold downtime and developing equipment / Mold improvement projects. This includes responding to equipment / Mold emergency downtime, support weekend / shutdown work, support training of other EST / Mold assoc., support engineering group in short/long term projects, support machine checks, Preventative Maintenance duties, troubleshooting for root cause and repair as needed.

Key Accountabilities

  • Complete assigned work orders, maintain PM schedule, plans and activities and support production/quality members in achieving the lines run rate and quality efficiency
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair: Mold related issues, (hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic) that relate to production and quality.
  • Monitor equipment / Mold for potential problem identification and areas of improvements that could be made to the dies.
  • Document daily (all) activity and information in Equipment Management Systems (Maximo)
  • Support weekend preventative maintenance, repair and plant shutdown activities as well as new mold installations and mold modifications

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Two-year degree (Elec./Mech./Indus.) or equivalent experience (preferred, but not required)

Other Job-Specific Skills

  • Problem analysis skills, Machine operations / Crane operation, Welding/fabrication, industrial/manufacturing experience, hand/power tool use/operation, Stamping die related experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word). Time management

Decisions Expected

  • Repair and countermeasure to be done with machine, mold and department specs in mind
  • Respond immediately to emergency equipment downtime
  • Perform mold trouble shooting related to tooling that impact safety, quality, delivery and cost

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing Environment
  • Potential 5-10 hours overtime per week possible
  • Weekend and Holiday work may be required
  • Travel 2-3 weeks for training or other equipment issues
  • 90% Standing vs sitting
  • Moderate lifting may be required
  • 16 hr. Preventive maintenance weekend overtime avg. per month
