You will be responsible for maintaining the electrical infrastructure to ensure a safe working environment respecting our approach and attitude towards health and safety.
The role will require you to undertake electrical installations and assist in machine moves and to provide first line machine breakdown fault investigation and repair.
You will need to manage your time effectively to work through reactive and planned maintenance tasks and respond to emergency breakdowns. In addition, you will have budgetary control over ordering electrical materials and critical spares to minimise down time.
Finally, you will be responsible for undertaking various building maintenance tasks and emergency repairs as well as aiding the Facilities Manager in the management of the specialist service suppliers and provide holiday cover.
There may be occasions when flexible working hours are necessary to undertake tasks that require an early start or a late finish, including site attendance at a weekend.
The successful candidate will be confident working independently and have excellent communication skills alongside the following:
Qualifications and Training
- Time Served Electrical Apprenticeship or level of relevant experience.
- City & Guilds Electrical Installations part 1&2 or equivalent
- City & Guilds, ONC or HNC
- City & Guilds 18th edition is essential
- City & Guilds 2391 (Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Verification of Electrical Installations) is desirable
Knowledge of
- LV Distribution systems – single and three phase
- Lighting and controls systems
Desired Experience
Commercial Building Maintenance
- AHU’s, FCU’s, Lighting repairs
- Awareness of Trend Building management systems.
- Awareness of Fan coil system controls – Honeywell
- Emergency Lighting Testing
Fault investigation and rectification on Production CNC machine breakdowns
- PLC Controllers – Basic Knowledge
- Inverters
- Interlock systems
- Contactor & Relays
Installation works
- LV Distribution systems – single and three phase.
- Conduit, Trunking and Tray work
- Running IT Data cables & testing
- Internal & External Lighting and controls systems
Assisting with general factory maintenance
- Dismantle and install furniture as required
- Dismantle and re-install partition to gain access, for example machine moves
- Make minor plumbing repairs, as necessary
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager
