PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Reporting into the IndyCar Arrow McLaren Director of Finance in our Indianapolis location, this role will own the day-to-day accounting function encompassing the responsibilities described below. Position requires relocation to Indianapolis.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
- Under the direction of the Director of Finance, assist in developing the financial strategy within the IndyCar team
- Supporting the development of an Accountant, reporting into this role to support on all activities
- Strong communication with key stakeholders internal and external to mitigate surprises and support performance maximization of the race team
- Ownership and administration of month-end process to close the books; posting of journals, balance sheets, fixed asset reconciliation and depreciation posting, debtor and creditor reconciliations. Responsible for accruals and revenue recognition
- Review P&L and BS ledgers monthly for accuracy and completeness
- Oversight of inputs to weekly cashflow submissions for payment (i.e. creating invoices for payment)
- Process payroll for IndyCar team, managing inputs/outputs to payroll system for accuracy; benefits costs, 401(k), HRIS
- Manage bank and credit card relationships and process
- Process documentation to ensure adequate control over all financial transactions
- Tax submissions and oversight of external audits
- Management of vehicle and risk insurance requirements to ensure safeguarding of the company’s assets
- Measure and manage the companies working capital performance and drive the best practice into the various teams
- Cashflow planning/forecasting, and monthly expenses
- Work alongside Director of Finance on the budget/forecast, and organizational strategy around company finances
- Oversight and optimization of purchasing controls, working alongside Purchasing Manager
- Main point of contact for systems integrated with payroll and accounting systems
- Manage vendor and contractor contracts, including Driver queries
- Policy setting and controls
