CAD Specialist/Trainer

We are looking to recruit a CAD Specialist/Trainer who will be responsible for mapping current processes within the Engineering Office, identifying efficiency improvements, designing solutions, and implementing these into our business systems.

 

CAD Specialist/Trainer - The Role

This role will also be responsible for subsuming engineering standards into business systems using intuitive and efficient processes. You will lead the ‘as-is’ process mapping and ‘to-be’ process solutions within EO and design efficient and intuitive solutions to improve EO efficiency. You will be working closely with the PLM team to ensure all solutions are in line with best working practices to ensure solutions are integrated and compatible with the long-term business system strategies. You will also be responsible for the creation, publication, and maintenance of documentation suitable for the support of 3DX tools and methodologies.

Main Missions:

  • Support the ‘as-is’ process mapping and ‘to-be’ process solutions within EO.
  • Support the design of efficient and intuitive solutions to improve EO efficiency, targeting 5% improvement/year.
  • Support the conversion of current engineering standards into intuitive processes embedded within business systems.
  • Support the creation, publication, and maintenance of documentation suitable for the support of 3DX tools and methodologies.
  • Devise vision and strategy of the function to onboard new starters and up skill existing high performance CAD users.
  • Prepare CAD training material to the highest quality making it applicable, relevant, and cutting edge.
  • Work closely with PLM suppliers to ensure CAD is being used as intended and designed.
  • Research new technologies, quickly and efficiently porting them into our environment with best in class supporting documentation.
  • Deliver training to both FSC Engineering and Aerodynamics Engineering via in person training sessions.

 

 

CAD Specialist/Trainer – The Person

The successful candidate will be a fluent user of V5/V6/3DX with 3+years’ experience in relevant PLM, software, tools and processes.

They will have knowledge in creation and administration of methodologies within V5/V6/3DX with a good understanding of design workflow, engineering tasks and association to CAD applications. They will be comfortable delivering training around all aspects of the EO design software. 

Knowledge of 3DX automation e.g., macros, UDFs, knowledge-ware and coding and demonstrable skills in process mapping, problem solving and solution derivation and implementation.

Design experience is preferred with a good understanding of engineering tasks and association to CAD applications.
