What are Hospitality Jobs?

 

Hospitality staff in Motorsport usually plan and execute the hospitality programme at race events. Responsible for providing great guest experiences, responsibilities will include managing drivers and sponsors in hospitality units and ensuring everything is set up and on brand.

The job titles in Hospitality are very varied as there are so many different jobs that need doing. Some of the different jobs required in Hospitality are Hospitality Event Staff, Hospitality Manager, Front of House, Host, Guest Relations, Catering, Partner Lead, Chef, Cook, Barista, Bartender, Supervisors & Team Members.

 

 

 

 

What tasks and responsibilities do roles in Hospitality have?

 

Hospitality staff will complete the internal setup of hospitality units, setting out tables and chairs, laying tables and organising cutlery then once the event is underway hospitality and event staff will be greeting guests upon arrival and ensuring everyone is looked after and waited on during the event. Chefs and cooks will be making food, Baristas making coffees and bartenders pouring drinks. On the management side, there will be various supervisors and managers who oversee organisation and execution strategy, ensuring people are in the right place at the right time and that everything goes to plan.

 

 

 

 

What qualifications do you need to work in Hospitality?

 

No specific qualifications are required usually, however, there are lots of courses and additional qualifications you can choose from which will help in securing the best roles. There are many apprenticeships available, or you could choose a BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council qualifications). There are also Higher National Certificate and Higher National Diploma (NHC and HNCD) available.

 

Recruiting manager will often look at experience and performance for Hospitality roles, so if you have experience in Hospitality but in another sector, i.e., not in Motorsport, then you will find it will be possible to transfer skills over and this could be a good way to enter the world of motorsport.
