Stores person/spare parts Specialist – Motorsport

To support our growth in the LMDh class of the World Endurance Championship, we are looking for a stores person/ spare parts and consumables buyer to join Hertz Team JOTA.

 

Purpose of the role:

As stores person reporting daily to the chief mechanic, you will be responsible for ordering spare parts supporting our Porsche 963 LMDh cars using the dedicated Porsche spare parts portal. You will also be tasked with sourcing and ordering consumables and materials required to successfully run our WEC LMDh race program.

 

Principal accountabilities:

  • Liaison with the Porsche Aftersales department and spare parts/consumables partners as required.
  • Identify the spare part requirements for vehicle maintenance though life check.
  • Control spare parts bill of materials plus source/implement software systems to streamline our stores/parts operation.
  • Help manage the communication of technical and spare part related bulletins via the Porsche online portal.
  • Processing of commercial invoices working side by side with our logistics team.
  • Prioritise urgent spare part orders.
  • Support the chief mechanic by entering spare parts into life check.
  • Support the delivery of track-side parts supply and coordination with the logistics team.

 

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Experience within a main dealer Service desk or Parts support role advantageous.
  • A high level of computer literacy.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project etc.)
  • Knowledge of SAP or D365 along with life check would be advantageous.
  • Conversant with CAD systems an advantage, but not essential.

 

Personal attributes:

  • Must be able to communicate at all levels, be highly self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • To be available to work outside normal working hours, sometimes on location, and sometimes at short notice as required. However, this is not seen as a regular travelling role with the race team.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills with a proven record of delivering on time.
