We are a small friendly team and provide a comprehensive and first-class service to our customers including general servicing, full restorations, car sales, car sourcing and inspection, engine and gearbox rebuilds, performance upgrades, and track day & historic racing car building, preparation, and support.

Job description

We are looking to recruit an experienced finance/office assistant on a part time basis to assist with a varied range of activities to support the effective running of the business. The main responsibilities are:

  • Day to day financial administration: invoice preparation, processing customer payments, authorizing and setting up bill payments and accurate record keeping.
  • Supporting our external accountants; answering queries and organizing everything needed for VAT returns, yearly accounts, Payroll/PAYE and staff pensions.
  • General office administration; writing up job sheets and parts orders to customer invoices, uploading documents onto the online bookkeeping platform and answering incoming calls and emails.
  • Organizing local and international shipping, packaging items, and ensuring accurate customs paperwork when required.
  • Collating and preparing history files for sales vehicles.
  • Running errands using the business vehicle to assist with local collections and deliveries.

Person Specification:


  • Solid experience in a finance based administrative role and confidence with a wide range of associated office-based tasks.
  • Superb organization skills and accurate record keeping with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent I.T skills; competent with Microsoft office; Word, Outlook and Excel spreadsheets as well as online systems.
  • To be able to work well both as part of a small, friendly, and professional team as well as independently; problem solving and using own initiative when required.
  • Confident driver with a full, clean, UK Driving license


  • Familiar with using the online accounting software system 'XERO.'
  • Good knowledge of relevant business regulation and legislation.
  • Experience working in the motor trade industry or a personal interest in the world of classic cars and motorsport.


  • 2 days a week. (Can be flexible.)
  • Self-employed permanent contract.
  • Competitive pay of £12 - £15 per hour depending on experience.
  • Occasional overtime available to assist with ad-hoc tasks/longer distance collections and deliveries.
