Travel

General Role Overview

The EV Technician, Mobile Service is the core of our service business and provides the best-in-class service of Fisker electric vehicles.  This position requires an experienced service and diagnostic professional with a solid background and hands-on experience in EV maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proficiently perform vehicle, diagnostics, repair or maintenance with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with Fisker standards.

  • Interact with customers as a service consultant to ensure an elevated level of customer satisfaction, deescalate potential concerns, and manage service escalations.

  • Properly explain available service options and inform service status / completion to customers, including estimated repair time and cost.

  • Fulfill Fisker’s Service Commitment with technical expertise, style, speed, and skill utilizing a digital forward approach.

  • Conduct a thorough return process, which includes performing quality control check before returning the vehicle to the customer, explaining the work done, answering any related questions, completing payment, providing receipt, and soliciting feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Ensure proper and thorough documentation of related work order, warranty record, and quality feedback.

  • Complete parts orders and returns to ensure accurate inventory level in the assigned mobile service unit.

  • Participate with a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful attitude in an ever-changing dynamic environment, shaping a differentiated Aftersales experience from the rest of the industry.

  • Identify and report complex technical issues encountered in the field, emerging trends, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and remediation activities.

  • Provide feedback directly to design, engineering, and technical teams to enable continuous improvement of repair procedures and products.

  • Validate detailed Repair Manuals, Service Bulletins, Technical & Parts Information in addition to contributing to the build out of digital storefront functionality for ease of vehicle repair and service levels.

  • Participate with a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful attitude in an ever-changing dynamic environment shaping a differentiated aftersales experience from the rest of the industry.

  • Identify and report complex technical issues encountered in the field, emerging trends, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and remediation activities.

  • Provide back-up to support serviceability team of engineers to ensure optimal repair time and lowest cost of ownership through process optimization.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, consulting with customers while utilizing a digital forward approach.

  • Manage customer service escalations and technical cases with Service Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Completed education or vocational training as an Automotive Technician (or comparable training).

  • 6+ years of experience in an Automotive Service Technician role.

  • 3+ years of experience in an EV service role, including diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of High Voltage powertrain systems (HV Systems).

  • 3+ years of experience in a direct, customer-facing role (such as a Service Advisor).

  • Experience using diagnostic tools and network protocols (e.g., ECU troubleshooting on CAN / LIN / FlexRay / Body Bus, LVDS, etc.).

  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and standardized shop equipment.

  • EPA 609 Certification is required.

  • OEM Master Certification and/or ASE Master Certification are highly desired.

  • ASE L3 Hybrid / EV Certification and L4 ADAS Certification are highly desired.

  • Live High Voltage (HV) System qualification is a plus.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.  Additional language skills are a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Working Conditions

  • Must be willing to work overtime, early hours, late hours, and/or weekends to meet deadlines and goals for a global company.

  • May be exposed to service workshop environment that requires lifting moderate weights, standing for long hours, wearing personal protective equipment, etc.
