CNC Programmer Machinist

BWT Alpine F1 Team have an exciting opportunity to join us in the role of CNC Programmer-Machinist working in our Aerodynamics Machine Shop.  With a dynamic and supportive team mindset and world-leading facilities in rural Oxfordshire, we provide the ideal environment for the next step in your career.

The Role

As a CNC Programmer-Machinist you will be a key member of the team, working in a fast-paced environment with state-of-the-art equipment, and contributing significantly to success on the track.

As part of the weekend team, your day-to-day role will be to produce metallic parts by programming, setting and operating our 5-axis CNC mills and EDM wire machine. The parts you produce will be high precision, one-off and small batch volume components for the wind tunnel model and associated engineering projects, so high attention to detail is a must.  You will be skilled at interpreting technical drawings and 3D Models, and have the ability to fault-find your own machining processes, feeding back model issues to designers and team leaders. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and be efficient with your machining strategies and programming time.

The Person
While the ideal candidate will have previous experience of Heidenhain machine controls, programming with Hypermill CAD/CAM and using Vericut verification software, full training will be given where needed.  Skilled machinists will also be considered for this role, so it is an ideal opportunity to learn and develop a programming skillset with our program/make culture: we take pride in our ability to develop skill sets.

You will be highly motivated, with a positive can-do mindset and great attention to detail, capable of producing high quality components to tight deadlines even when under pressure.  This is fundamentally a team role, so you will be an excellent communicator, working flexibly to meet demanding schedules, and proactively looking for ways in which we can make our processes more efficient and effective.

In this role you will be based at our Technical Centre in Enstone.  It is a permanent role on the Weekend Day shift, so your working days will be Friday to Sunday.

Alpine Racing strives to be diverse and inclusive, a place where we can all be ourselves. We welcome people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, and experiences. We are committed to making a consistent, top down effort to be role models on what diversity, inclusion and belonging means in society.
