Race Mechanic Wanted

Overview:

You're an experienced race car mechanic who wants to prapare and support a winning GT race car, while traveling 14 weekends per year with a small, tight-knit team. This is a full-time salaried position with competitive pay and benefits.

You will work as a mechanic in the shop and at the race track. You will assemble and disassemble the race car and work to prepare for the race weekend - 14 total weekends in 2024. Of course, you'll take a few days off after a race weekend to relax! You will work on all aspects of a race car with focus on front, rear and/or mid sections. At the race track you will prepare the car for the track by making necessary changes to setup when instructed. As a mechanic you will will ensure that all components of the car are secured.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and inspection of suspension components, engine & ancillary components

  • Dis/assembly of race cars (suspension, engine and interior components) as required

  • Ensure car is setup, aligned, corner-weighted, and make adjustments to sway bars

  • Drive truck and trailer, arriving at least 1 day prior to beginning of event. For long

  • distances, may require leaving on a Tuesday for an event that starts on Friday.

  • Read the rule book for all series participating and stay up to date with changes

  • Tracking component lifing for all cars, notifying car owners of upcoming maintenance

  • needed and replacing and refreshing components as needed

  • Performing Pre and Post Event checks

  • Changing oil and fluids regularly to keep car in proactive working order

  • Race Car Mechanic may use own tools, however company will provide all necessary tools.

  • This is a small team where everyone will have a speciality, buy also wear additional hats such as helping out with local errands around Austin, TX

Qualifications:

  • Certificate/Diploma from an Automotive Trade School or equivalent work experience is preferred.

  • Previous experience on a race team is preferred.

  • Ability to use hand tools is required.

  • Ability to lift more than 20lbs.

  • Ability to bend, kneel, sit or stand for extended periods of time.
