WHAT IS RACE SOFTWARE?

RACE (Rapid Axle Concept Evolution) Software is an end-to-end MBS (multibody simulation) software package for the development of suspension and chassis systems. It combines model build, model parameterisation, post-process, secured data storage and report generation into a single platform.

RACE Software allows anyone, from individuals to OEMs to run MBS analysis with a web browser.

No post-processing is required by the user, no MBS experience is required by the user, no software install required by the user.

Cloud-based results and report storage!

RACE Standard offers the ability to go from data input to professional suspension performance report from under 60 seconds

WHAT IS RACE SOFTWARE’S MISSION? WHAT ARE THEIR VALUES?

Sustainability has been at the heart of their business from the beginning, providing a scalable product and service for their customers. With this in mind they have been able to ensure companies and race teams can further develop their vehicles on time, innovatively, whilst reducing emissions in physical testing. Their initiative to further reduce CO2 emissions within simulation has been achieved by reducing the time, man power and computing power needed to conduct testing virtually.

Part of their growth objectives are to be carbon negative as a business, whilst providing back to communities which can already be seen through their education programmes. RACE Software has at its core an expert and diverse team of people with global recognitions.

Their mission is to empower the world with tools to achieve the most out of our machines.

I’M LOOKING FOR A JOB, SO CAN RACE SOFTWARE HELP?

A GLIMPSE INTO THE “SUSPENSION PERFORMANCE TUNING USING MULTIBODY SIMULATION SOFTWARE” COURSE

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

You will learn how to tune a suspension through a mix of theory and hands-on exercises using suspension multibody simulation software.

REQUIREMENTS

  • An internet connection
  • A web browser (no software installation required)
  • Basic knowledge of physics (forces and moments)
  • Basic knowledge of maths (geometry and 3D coordinates)

DESCRIPTION

The RACE Software team has designed this course specifically for professionals and students looking to expand their chassis and suspension systems knowledge and to learn what it takes to conceptualise, design and engineer an optimal suspension system.

The course comes with one month’s FREE access to RACE Software.  The course has a mix of theory and practical hands-on tuning exercises using RACE Software.

The course teaches how to setup and tune Suspension Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) used in the automotive and motorsport industries. It takes the user through concepts such as brake steer, bump camber, camber compliance and more. The structure of the course lessons is as shown below.

Course Lesson Structure:
1. Introduction to the suspension metric
2. How to tune the metric
3. Hands on tuning exercise (tune it yourself)
4. Further examples/suggested tasks
5. Question/challenge

The course has 10 lessons including a final tuning challenge which requires the application of the knowledge learned during the course.

WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR

  • Automotive and Motorsport students and professionals looking to learn how to tune a suspension.
  • Anyone with an interest in suspension performance tuning or in suspension design and development.
  • Anyone with an interest in multibody simulation applied to suspension design.

Once completed, the candidate will receive a certificate that recognises their achievement and this can be shared with their professional social networks and be added to their CVs.

A FEW MORE DETAILS

RACE Software runs a suspension kinematics and compliance analysis. Kinematics and compliance is a suspension analysis technique which is widely used in both passenger vehicle development and motorsport.

In a suspension kinematics and compliance analysis, simplified vertical, roll, cornering, traction and braking loads are applied to the suspension system and the response of the system to each input type is recorded. The simplified inputs allow the force-response interactions of the suspension system to be understood and ultimately tuned.

WHAT SORT OF JOBS WOULD THIS COURSE HELP ME PREPARE FOR?

The course prepares you for positions such as:

Vehicle dynamics engineer, Automotive suspension engineer, Chassis systems engineer, a technical specialist position and many more!
