Position Overview:
The Junior Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the accounting function including GL maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries and posting of cash receipts. This position will be required to be in office in NYC a minimum of 2 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with Monthly Bank reconciliationsMaintenance of the fixed asset schedules for all companies including recording the depreciation on a monthly basisReconcile various accounts including inventory and amortization of prepaid accountsPerform various accounting activities including: GL reconciliations, Journal Entries, and month-end close activitiesAssists with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and government reporting as necessary. Assists management to provide outside accounting firm(s) with accurate and timely information and assist in any review or audit issue resolution. Identify improvements and efficiencies in accounting and financial reporting proceduresAd-hoc ReportingActively follow and promote a safe working environment Other duties as may be assigned or determined appropriate
Skills And Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance is required1+ years of experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm would be a bonusAdvanced MS Office skillsExcellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skillsExperience with multi-company entities and inter-company reconciliationsExcellent analytical and organizational skillsDemonstrates autonomy, organization, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilitiesAbility to analyze information, identify and solve problemsAttention to detail and well-developed time management skillsNetSuite experience is preferred
Compensation The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $65,000 - $80,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The compensation package also includes the medical, dental, and vision as well as an unlimited PTO plan a 401(k) with employer match.
