Simulation & Performance Engineer

Grove Racing competes in the Australian Supercars Championship and GT racing around the world. We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer to join our team and lead the development of our simulation and analysis tools. 

Based in our newly renovated facility in Braeside Victoria, our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in motorsport simulation and performance engineering and have a strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and modelling. The ability to work collaboratively with the engineering team will be integral to the successful candidate flourishing in our dynamic environment. 

You will have an unwavering determination to win and be an open, honest, and communicative team player. This full-time position will primarily be based at our factory in Braeside Victoria, with occasional travel to Supercars test days and other motorsport events as required. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the vehicle and vehicle sub-system models for vehicle dynamics and performance simulation. 

 

This role will be responsible for: 

  • Leading and developing performance vehicle models and simulation tools  

  • Correlating simulation results to real word data 

  • Produce a portfolio of cutting-edge tools across all simulation use cases 

  • Support race engineers to ensure they benefit from and make the best usage of the simulation tools and models 

  • Assist and guide the development of the car 

  • Work within the team to collectively develop the engineering capability of the team 

 

Required Knowledge and attributes: 

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline (Masters/PhD preferred) 

  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and vehicle modelling 

  • Experience using coding environments such as Python & C# 

  • Capacity to solve and explain complex engineering problems 

  • A strong desire to create state of the art simulation tools  

  • Strong science, physics and data driven work ethic 

  • Good communication skills, able to coordinate and lead projects  

  • Manage workload efficiently to meet tight deadlines 

  • Operate in a positive & professional manner and support your colleagues
