We are looking for a Commercial Strategy Executive to become an integral part of team. You will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end success of the Williams Commercial Team in the acquisition of new Commercial Partners/Sponsors and in-turn drive revenue growth of the Williams Commercial & Marketing function. 

As a Commercial Strategy Executive, you will:

  • Take a leading role in the profiling of target industries for partnership and the identification and enrichment of potential commercial prospects. 

  • Maintain an up to date understanding and database of the partnership landscape in Formula 1 and other key sporting competitors. 

  • Use this and other market intelligence to identify and profile target industries for future team partnerships with supporting data and justification. 

  • Within target industries identify and utilise key data indicators to identify viable prospects and scorecard existing prospects in a way that is aligned to the wider Commercial team strategy. 

  • Utilising an ever-increasing toolkit deliver well-reasoned and data justified target lists for commercial outreach campaigns. 

  • Provide end-to-end support of the partnership development process in line with the wider commercial strategy and objectives including: 

  • Development of a comprehensive understanding of the Williams commercial proposition and how this can be aligned to potential partners and their objectives and strategy. 

  • For open conversation be capable of creating concise and insightful research briefs into potential partners to support the sales process and communication of key prospects to senior stakeholders. 

  • Champion the management and maintenance of B2B CRM (Salesforce) including updating, cleansing, analysis, reporting and sales funnel management. 

  • Support the creation, execution and monitoring of an annual calendar of commercial prospecting campaigns for prospects and partners. 

  • Provide end-to-end strategic support to key areas of the partnership development process. 

  • Create, optimise and maintain a best in class understanding and model of partnership inventory: 

  • Support the creation and ongoing development a live view of all commercial inventory in line with the revised Commercial Partnership model and of contracted vs available inventory. 

  • Use this view to align new proposals to the available inventory and scorecard existing and prospective deals against the defined framework for new partnerships. 

  • Develop a working knowledge of partnership valuation and existing framework with the ability to apply this to the partnership development process and on-going rate card monitoring. 

  • Support the ongoing iteration of pipeline management and reporting of the sales funnel including OKR setting, pipeline visualisation, classification of opportunities and revenue forecasting. 

  • Utilise the understanding developed from the above competencies to monitor progress against the defined Commercial Strategy, OKR frame and shape their future development. 

As a Commercial Strategy Executive you will ideally have:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a sports marketing environment (Rights Holder, Agency or Brand) or other external facing commercial environment (Finance, Investments, Strategy or Insights).

  • A high level of IT literacy including MS Office with desirable experience using PowerBI, Salesforce, Hubspot, Adobe Reader and other specialist tools such as GWI, Q-Reader, Emplifi & Google Analytics.

  • An interest in the Commercial landscape of sport and Sponsorship as a discipline over general sporting or F1 interest.

  • An ability to balance this with a strong understanding of wider market trends across diverse industries and geographies their potential impact on sponsorship as a discipline.

  • A strategic thinker who can be flexible in their approach to challenging situations and working collaboratively in a Commercial and Marketing function tasked with aggressive revenue targets.

  • Have a pragmatic, transparent and open communication style

  • Able to work effectively both autonomously with minimal oversight and collaboratively as part of fast paced team environment.

  • A high level of data literacy and at a least a basic understanding of how to use AI in a business context.
