We are recruiting for a Producer who would be based at our Media and Technology Centre in Biggin Hill.  Do you have what it takes to be part of the world’s greatest sport and entertainment spectacle?

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work within the F1TV and Track TV production team with regards to planning and organizing production assets, shoots and shows.

  • Working within the Live Production environment, the candidate will be given the opportunity to work at different areas and gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced world class Sports Production.

  • Working to a brief provided by the Executive Producer, and working under your own skill and initiative, to produce live and non-live video content for F1TV and Track TV and additional shoots or shows.

  • To manage the production process by raising stories, themes or visual concepts with the Executive Producer and ensuring projects are completed to deadline.

  • To supervise work being undertaken by editors and researchers, providing guidance and creative vision and to work with the live production crew during the broadcasts.

  • Working together with multiple internal and external stakeholders creating trusted and high quality content. Effective in organising and managing resources and good knowledge of technical requirements for the broadcasts.

  • Act as the mediator between the Race Promotions team and the broadcast technical teams to ensure all logistics and infrastructure are in place ahead of and during races.

  • To produce running orders and to switch or direct Track TV or other shows and recordings.

  • Knowledge of key principles on writing scripts from scratch, tailoring the tone and style to bespoke pieces of content. Is also skilled enough to research and fact check, whilst delivering technical detail in a digestible and presentable format. Able to add creative flair to make a script entertaining and engaging.

  • To create running orders for live productions and to make sure all assets are produced and broadcasted as planned.

  • Sufficient understanding of the F1 archive, with the ability to use more advanced searching tools and to operate advanced broadcast equipment. When requested, can provide footage and provides good examples. Utilises past experiences to pre-empt footage research requests from F1TV Production team or Live production team.

  • Understands Virtual, AR, and Virtual Studio workflows. Can support in how to visualise a virtual environment and work creatively with assets that are provided for the Virtual set.

  • Demonstrate how to work within the hierarchy of the F1 Production Team. Perform within the boundaries of your role to build a strong team. Identify when your support is needed on other areas of the broadcast and support other roles when needed.

  • To occasionally travel to race events, to organise and produce live and pre-recorded content on the field and to floor manage the TrackTV presentation team at select races.

  • To keep fully aware of all developments in Formula 1 and its support series and to use this knowledge to ensure that F1’s programming content is contemporary and factual.

  • Attending race review meetings.

  • Reviewing race weekend content to develop understanding and provide information for the next event to ensure the broadcast maintains its standards and continually looking for ways to improve.

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external company brand guidelines.

  • To complete all mandatory training within specified timelines.

  • To operate safely at all times in line with company health and safety requirements.

  • To undertake other duties within your capabilities as your Department Manager or Team Manager may assign to you from time to time.

  • UK driving license.

  • Willingness to travel abroad.

  • Strong understanding of a range of sports and sports productions.

Qualifications

  • Media studies with specific focus on TV production.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good knowledge of working in a Live Production Gallery.

  • Good comms discipline.

  • Understanding timings and creating running orders.

  • Have good understanding of Broadcast Graphics and their impact.

  • Experienced knowledge of vison mixers, Audio systems, Comms systems, Cameras, VT systems, Graphics, Lighting as well as other broadcast tools.

  • Good computer literacy which should include using Excel spreadsheets to manipulate data.

  • Able to create decks and presentations using PowerPoint.
