Home to NASCAR’s Championship Weekend, Phoenix Raceway has been the premier motorsports venue in the Southwest since 1964 and hosts two NASCAR race weekends each year. In March, the Ruoff Mortgage 500 NASCAR Weekend kicks off the race season at Phoenix Raceway, featuring the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Series. Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Subassembly Mechanic. This position will be responsible for weekly servicing, maintenance, and assembly of the Xfinity suspension components including, but not limited to, housings, truck arms, spindles, control arms and all associated components. This position will be required to maintain communication with the Crew Chief, Car Chief along with shop staff to ensure weekly builds are completed in a timely and accurate fashion.
POSITION SUMMARY
Duties will include assembly, testing, and race-prep of shocks and related components. Will be responsible for testing shock and spring performance using shock dynamometers, and advanced spring raters. Perform engineering tasks utilizing simulation tools and laboratory testing to develop performance, including pull down rig, 7post, and various other laboratory equipment. This position will support the race teams as well as the performance and development group with interpreting and translating related data.
