Legree built his first 2-stroke motor at the age of 14. He was a regular at local kart tracks and personal watercraft races in Brazil. His motors turned heads and by the age of 21 he was one of the most successful watercraft motor builders in Brazil garnering 8 National Championships. This success propelled him to the World Finals where a 3rd place and a subsequent World Championship cemented his reputation for building motors for champions.
