Team Leader Aerodynamicist (REF221201)

Would you like to

  • Primarily focus on managing a group of aerodynamicists effectively, reporting to a principal aerodynamicist?
  • Deliver aerodynamic performance to the race car, by analysing CFD and wind tunnel data as well as innovating throughout the design & development process?
  • Help to build an understanding of aerodynamic structures and behaviours around the race car?
  • Suggest, investigate and, where applicable, implement new methods and processes to improve efficiency of aerodynamic ideas generation, design, testing, analysis and reporting?
  • Contribute to collaborative discussions and efforts to improve whole-car performance, offering ideas and taking on board feedback from others?

Do you have

  • At least 6 to 7 years’ experience as well as a track record as a (senior) aerodynamicist in Formula 1?
  • A strong educational background in aerodynamics, with a degree in engineering that incorporates either aerodynamics or fluid mechanics?
  • Experience in planning and organising aerodynamic projects against pre-agreed targets; this in collaboration with other Group Leaders?
  • Proficient computer skills including CFD and 3D CAD software (preferably CATIA V5/V6)?
  • A strong technical understanding of CFD and wind tunnel test techniques as well as experience of running wind tunnel testing programs?
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical approach, with attention to detail?
  • The capacity to lead a project and achieve performance targets within strict deadlines?
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills to effectively manage a small team of people?

 

Aerodynamicist / Senior Aerodynamicist (REF221202)

Would you like to

  • Work within one of our development groups?
  • Be involved in all aspects of aerodynamic development including innovative concept definition, testing and analysis of the numerical and experimental simulations?
  • Work closely with other aerodynamicists, CFD engineers and model designers to make a substantial contribution towards the performance of our race car?
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop innovative thinking, tools, and processes?
  • Suggest, investigate and, where applicable, implement new methods and processes to improve efficiency of aerodynamic ideas generation, design, testing, analysis, and reporting?

Senior Aero Performance Engineer (REF221203)

Would you like to

  • Work in our Aerodynamic Department with special focus on aerodynamic performance?
  • Help the process of extracting the best performance from the wind tunnel tests?
  • Model the aero data for the simulation tools and the simulator?
  • Analyse aerodynamic track data?
  • Work closely to the aerodynamic department and vehicle performance team to assess the car’s performance on track?

Do you have

  • A MSc or PhD in Aerospace/Motorsport Engineering with focus on Aerodynamics?
  • At least 5yrs experience in the aero department as aerodynamicst or aero performance engineer?
  • Programming skills in Matlab and Python?
  • The language skills to converse fluently and write reports in English?
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical approach, with attention to details?
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills?

 

Senior CFD Correlation / Methodology Engineer (REF221204)

Would you like to

  • Work in our Aerodynamic Department with special focus on Correlation and CFD modelling?
  • Apply your competences to improve the accuracy and reliability of our aero-development tools?
  • Work closely to the experimental and computational development of our F1 car’s aerodynamics?
  • Work closely to the assessment of car’s performance on track?
  • Work closely to the development of the applied CFD codes?

Do you have

  • A MSc or PhD in Aerospace/Motorsport Engineering with focus on Aerodynamics and CFD?
  • A strong background on fluid physics, numerical methods, turbulence modelling and have you kept yourself up to date about the latest advancements in the field?
  • At least 4yrs experience in the application of CFD and WT testing to the development of racing car aerodynamics (specific experience on F1 aerodynamics would be an advantage)?
  • Given attention to and actively worked on the analysis and improvement of the correlation among the various sources of aerodynamic data (CFD, WT, Track)?
  • Programming skills in C++, Python, and VBA scripting and experience with open-source CFD codes?
  • Knowledge of the CATIA V5/V6 GSD and part design workbench would be an advantage?

 

Aero Software Developer (REF221205)

Would you like to

  • Develop and create the latest generation of aerodynamic analysis tools?
  • Work closely with aerodynamic engineers to improve the ease of understanding complex data.
  • Apply your experience and knowledge to help us set future directions and trends in data analysis and data visualization?
  • Be responsible to define the look and feel of the user interface in terms of presentation and interaction with the data from a wide range of engineering data sources.
  • Be responsible for producing high performance and well-designed data access tools and APIs to be used by other existing systems.
  • Complete design, code, test, release and maintenance of data analysis applications?

Do you have

  • An MSc or PhD in Computer Science or Mathematics
  • Strong programming skills. The company is technologically open minded. Experience with the following would be beneficial:
  • Python (v3.x), Qt, PostgreSQL and real time engineering signal data processing.
  • C#, .NET and integrating with other technologies such as SQL Server and C++.
  • Experience with data organisation and repository creation using appropriate database and file technologies.
  • Interest in the development and deployment of AI and Machine Learning based systems.

CFD Tools Software Developer (REF221206)

Would you like to

  • Work in our CFD group to further enhance tools for CFD projects?
  • Develop specific software tools and user interfaces to further automate labour-intensive, repetitive work?
  • Able to contribute to the HPC system administration and parallel software improvements
  • Work on innovative techniques for CFD, involving cutting edge technologies like Machine Learning?

Senior Surface Aero Designer (REF221207)

Would you like to

  • Work as surface expert within our Aerodynamics department for the Formula 1 project?
  • Work close with the aerodynamicists and CFD engineers?
  • Generate complex surface models via the CATIA 3DExpirience CAD system as main activity?
  • Continuously maintain and improve the complex and already very sophisticated methodology of the surface models?
  • Improve the aerodynamic performance of a race car in collaboration with Aerodynamicists, other Aero Designers and across departments within a very short lead time?
  • Develop innovative and comprehensive aerodynamic concept studies within the CAD system?
  • Prepare CAD models for CFD calculations and further develop them in collaboration with Aerodynamicists?

Do you have

  • A basic training as designer (technical college) or mechanical engineer (university of applied sciences) or a technical designer education with corresponding professional experience?
  • Aork experience in motorsport Formula 1 in similar position?
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience in surface aerodynamic design?
  • Professional experience in designing complex surface models in CATIA V5/V6/3Dx?
  • Very broad and detailed knowledge of the CATIA GSD workbench?
  • Working routine with FIA Formula 1 regulations?
  • Good visualisation skills and imagination?
  • A very good command of English?
