General Role Overview:

Fisker Inc is looking for an experienced technical program manager with an established track record of building new or elevating existing software teams. You know how to establish a team’s identity and how to define the way in which that team works within a larger organization. You have mastered the ability to delegate – at both the task and project level – to appropriate team members and are able to ensure that the right results are achieved. The Technical Program Manager will oversee a number of key functions within the product development environment that enable the delivery of a high-quality experience to end users, and to ensure when we release changes to the experience, it meets both business and quality needs. This position requires that you establish and manage expectations within the business and drive engineering teams to achieve those expectations to a high standard.

As a Technical Program Manager within the Digital Product & Engineering organization, you’ll be joining a group that is responsible for building world-class digital experiences across web and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will also have a track record of having managed releases at a global scale, multi-platform systems, with teams distributed internationally. Your work and your approach to work are exemplary: you drive best practices and set standards for the organization. You are a key influencer in your team’s strategy and contribute significantly to team planning. You show good judgment making trade-offs between immediate and long-term business needs. You are a collaborative partner that makes other team members around you more productive by sharing your knowledge and driving delivery in an agile software environment.

Nature of Work

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage scope and complexity by driving projects across multiple teams, while managing dependencies and stakeholders from external teams

  • Champion operational excellence within the Digital Product & Engineering program and be a proactive leader of how this team will operate as it scales

  • Balance day-to-day project tasks with longer term program-level duties; requires ability to shift altitudes and priorities as needed

  • Help with operations and apply processes and standards thoughtfully with bias towards automation, identifying the right amount of process and structure to achieve the correct outcome with the least overhead

  • Lead prioritization planning for the portfolio of active and upcoming projects and be the main point of contact for all incoming project requests

  • Track progress throughout the duration of a project (from definition to launch and beyond) with a mindfulness toward dependencies and facilitate effective communication within and across teams

  • Track and manage dependencies across multiple projects; proactively work to reduce risks and roadblocks; you de-escalate problems before they become blockers

  • Maintain and update project planning/tracking tools in order to drive a clear understanding of priorities, tasks and deadlines; drive how leadership can quickly see resource capacity and project status at a glance

  • Excellent communication skills, concise and to the point, making you the initial point of contact for business and technical stakeholders. You are the point of contact for data related to your product, services, and features
