Technical Artist (Houdini)

Description

As a Technical Artist, you will join and cooperate with an experienced cross-discipline team working on AAA PC and console titles, where your expertise, enthusiasm, and communication skills will contribute to our goals by creating high quality control rigs for characters, as well as improving the quality and efficiency of our content workflows.

You will be responsbile for -

  • Rigging and skinning of characters and other assets
  • Developing animation tools and pipelines that improve production efficiency
  • Implementation of control rigs that simplify the work of animators and enable the quality of their output
  • Creation of tools and scripts that increase the productivity of the animation team, and generally bridging the gap between technical and creative disciplines
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
  • Helping to reinforce teamwork and a healthy studio culture

Requirements

  • 2+ years of technical art/rigging/animation experience in the games industry or related
  • Understanding of animation principles and human anatomy
  • Experience using Unreal Engine 4/5
  • Comfortable with all forms of character deformation (bones, blend shapes, displacement maps, cloth, hair, physics, etc)
  • Comfortable in a scripting environment
  • Experience documenting processes and collaborating with international teams
  • Great problem solving and critical thinking ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in another technical art area preferred (e.g. VFX, lighting)
  • An interest in motorsports, sim racing or racing games preferred
