Job Location

  • Manhattan Beach, CA (Hybrid Work – In Office and Remote) is preferred.

Role Overview

As Fisker returns to market the quality and reliability of the product is paramount in establishing the brand name and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) will be the technical key point of contact between Fisker purchasing, product engineering, manufacturing, as well as connecting with the assigned suppliers for Chassis and some Powertrain parts. The SQA will work with the assigned suppliers to resolve supplier manufacturing and quality issues, monitor and ensure that the supplier parts are complying to the agreed level of APQP and PPAP before the parts are shipped to the manufacturing assembly plant.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure supplier understanding and compliance with APQP processes and PPAP submission and approval for all new components and assemblies.

  • Review and validate supplier quality plans (Control Plans, PFMEA) for new components and assemblies for our new vehicle.

  • Review and validate Ok to Ship checklist to ensure that all parts met expectations according to product requirements.

  • Coordinate cross-functional team to work on root cause analysis and interim and permanent corrective actions of supplier quality issues.

  • Review nonconforming parts and sub-assemblies by facilitating a robust 8D process delivery.

  • Executing on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and validation of correction actions of supplier quality issues.

  • Responsible for supplier audits to ensure all parts and assemblies meet performance, delivery, and reliability expectations according to product requirements.

  • Providing technical assistance during supplier launch and ongoing production activities.

Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • BS/MS Degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability.

  • Experience in Quality Systems a plus: PPAP/APQP processes.

  • 5+ years of experience in supporting Chassis/Powertrain Vehicle parts for e.g., Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Frame, HVAC, and EDU modules is preferred.

  • Experience in manufacturing processes such as castings, stamping, folding, pressing, welding and general assemblies in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering or Product Development area.

  • Strong analytical skills and strong attention to detail to grant “Ok to Ship” Parts approval.

  • Ability to pull prints, read engineering drawings and understand dimensions, tolerances and critical characteristics at component or assembly level.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Excellent team building skills in dealing with suppliers, peers, and other functional areas.

  • Strong technical writing and an ability to explain complex issues in a concise and plain manner.
