Role Overview

The Sr. Manager Accounting, Leasing provides leadership, management and technical expertise over the Lease Accounting area, ensuring this function adheres to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and concepts. This role is responsible for Lease Accounting’s daily operations and month-end close processes. The Senior Manager, Lease Accounting prioritizes multiple assignments, reviews work prepared by staff, allocates resources and ensures adequate internal controls in are in place.

Responsibilities

  • Processing lease transactions designed to achieve sales-type accounting.

  • Estimating residual value guarantees.

  • Accumulating information for lease / sales footnote disclosures.

  • Reconciling proceeds from financial institutions to contract terms.

  • Analysis of initial direct costs associated with lease from lessor perspective.

  • Identification of contract variations that could change lease classification under ASC 842.

  • Preparing models to record lease payments over lease terms.

  • Development of processes and internal controls over leasing transactions.

  • Document and maintain evidence of the operation of internal controls.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience

  • 10 years experience in leasing accounting principals

  • Public company experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting concepts, including comprehensive knowledge of ASU 842 lease accounting.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and applicable business software applications, including databases, queries and reporting.

  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial lease operations and lease servicing systems. Expertise in leasing terminology, best practices, end-to-end process flow, accounting and reporting.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and detail orientation, with the ability to apply creative and innovative solutions and focus on downstream accounting while also allowing the business to meet the needs of the customer.

  • Excellent technical skills and demonstrated expertise in software product implementation, training and functional financial software support.

  • Demonstrated competence in identifying risk areas, analyzing options and new opportunities, and proactively determining appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Knowledge of project implementation techniques, process reengineering, and change management. Ability to manage change and implement continuous improvement processes.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving and conflict management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build and maintain effective relationships with all levels of management and associates.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Expected Salary Range: $79,600.00-$221,910.00

Additional compensation: Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker’s equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.

The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
