Social Media Coordinator (Part-Time)

Position Responsibility:

  • The Social Media Coordinator will assist with the day-to-day management of the Sonoma Raceway social media platforms, serving as an online voice for the racetrack
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content for social media platforms, including race day responsibilities for major events (such as NASCAR and NHRA)
  • Maintain a consistent, authentic “voice” across all social media channels to deepen the relationship between fans and the racetrack
  • Assist with the management of the posting schedule and calendar
  • Work closely with graphic designer and videographer to help develop storylines and narration
  • Suggest ways to attract new fan engagement through campaigns and incentives
  • Monitor and leverage hashtags and trending content relevant to the racetrack/organization
  • Communicate with followers, respond to questions as needed in a timely manner, and monitor fan conversations
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing
  • Reports to Marketing and Communications Manager/Director of Marketing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Senior-Level College Student preferably with a major in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Journalism, or a similar field. 1-2 years of digital media experience preferred but not required
  • Understanding and knowledge of motorsports (including rules, and terminology)
  • Highly motivated with excellent written and verbal skills; experience writing in social media and/or blogging space
  • Proficient with photography and videography
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of current events and pop culture; understands leading and emerging social media platforms
  • Able to work race days, including nights and weekends
  • Proficient in photo editing using Adobe Photoshop or other related editing software

Pay:

$21 - $23 hourly
