Purpose of Role

Providing containment to supplier quality issues raised in MPC by carrying out inspection plans generated by hotline (linesweeps and warehouse stock checks). Non-conforming parts (NCP) collection sweeps and processing NCP through the necessary channels (Scrap/RTV/Recovery).

Principal Accountabilities

  • Actioning Hotline inspection plans to provide plant containment for supplier issues
  • Processing of non-conforming products (NCP) – Scrap/RTV/Recovery
  • Inspection and release/quarantine of materials flagged for Parts Quality Inspection
  • Liaising with supplier to ensure timely response to formal RTVs in the form of an 8D
  • Level 0 escalation to Parts Quality Technicians
  • NCP sweeps and “Good Parts” Trolley review to provide QA OK confirmation for parts to go back to stock post rework
  • Providing inspection results into Hotline tracker app and live inspection tracker
  • Updating RTV tracker and liaising with Logistcs/Dispatch to ensure timely departure of RTVd stock
  • Recall of materials from MPC warehouse or from 3PL offsite warehouse
  • 5S and general housekeeping

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Required

  • Previous single part inspection experience
  • Problem solving skills (e.g. PPS)
  • Capable using the MS Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven track record of delivering targets (S,Q,D,C)
  • Good presentation skills
  • Able to work autonomously or as part of a wider team
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models

Advantageous

  • Experience of APQP, PPAP
  • Experience of lean manufacturing & problem solving tools
  • Experience of using SAP & associated tools
  • Experience within a Quality role at OEM or Tier One level
  • Experience in contacting external suppliers
