SENIOR SPORT COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

The Senior Sport Communications Manager has responsibility for overseeing all non single seater communications related to the FIA Sport Departments including championship and corporate events.  Reporting to the Head of Sport Communication, they will manage the implementation of strategic communications, reputation management and drive multi-channel media exposure for all FIA Sport Department activities.

MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Interface with Sport Department functional heads and other relevant departments - i.e.  Research and Development, Commercial, Safety and Medical, Social Responsibility, Public Affairs and Head of Content and Channels to deliver high-quality communications

- Manage a team of communications practitioners (sport communication managers/media delegates) across the FIA's Sport pillar

- Contribute to delivery of strategic messaging around topics such as Advanced Technology, Sustainability and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)

- Oversee the implementation of the FIA's core communications strategy across internal and stakeholder groups

- Project manage multiple communications activities from planning to execution

- Support communications around FIA championship including the single-seater pyramid

- Manage the communications calendar across Sport events and announcements

- Attend as required FIA Championship events to identify and engage with key stakeholders, observe promoter activity, develop media relations and propose suggestions for developing the FIA communications remit

- Provide supporting communications for FIA corporate events such as Annual General Assembly, FIA Conference, Sport and Mobility World Councils, Regional Conferences

- Work closely with the wider FIA Communications team to foster a collaborative approach and ensure goals and activities are aligned with a wider purpose

- Oversee writing and editing of press releases, speeches, presentations, articles, and executive briefing notes

- Implement an agreed reporting mechanism to identify workflow and highlight results according to KPIs

- Contribute to the over-arching objective of positioning the FIA as the global voice for sport and mobility

PROFILE:

- Communications, Journalism or other relevant degree At least 8/10 years of professional experience in a similar position related to communications and Public Relations and Media

- A solid track record of developing integrated communication strategies and plans by working proactively with colleagues to identify new ways to communicate key messages, target relevant audiences 

- Extensive leadership and demonstrable management expertise

- Strong stakeholder relations skills with a good record or advising and influencing senior leadership in large organisations

- Ability to prioritise complex requests at pace and manage multiple competing deadlines

- English native or highly proficient

- Strong knowledge of MS Office 

- CMS and social media expertise

- Strong team spirit

- Good interpersonal skills

- Excellent writing skills and communication strategy implementation experience
