Purpose of Role

This role will be the lead business partner for the MSO (McLaren Special Operations) Vertical with full ownership of the MSO financials. Supporting the MSO team and Director to achieve their budget, driving commercial decision making through performance analysis whilst implementing and improving financial processes and controls.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Full ownership of the MSO P&L and balance sheet for both reporting and strategic cycles (budget and monthly reforecasting).
  • Completion of month end processes, leading monthly finance reviews with key stakeholders, delivering timely and accurate financial information with commentary that demonstrates and comprehensive understanding of revenue performance, cost drivers and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate and prepare annual budget and monthly reforecast submissions, identifying and risks and opportunities to the forecast.
  • Business partnering the MSO team, building relationships cross-functionally and acting as the first point of contact for all financial matters within the vertical.
  • Driving performance analysis including revenue, contribution, and non-financial information as well and ad-hoc analysis when required to support commercial decision making and drive performance in MSO.
  • Challenge key stakeholders to drive accountability, as well as providing them with the tools necessary to track progress against their financial targets and operate within the agreed budgets.
  • Identify and implement process, reporting and analysis improvements in all areas of role.
  • Ensure MSO Departmental budgetary & cash control processes are in place and followed, challenging spend where necessary.
  • Support the Credit Control Manager with MSO cash management, trade finance limits and supporting with any statement of account or payment queries.
  • Other ad-hoc business requirements as required by your manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
  • Advanced Excel skills required to interrogate and manage large volumes of complex data
  • Experience of accounting systems, preference for SAP experience
  • Confident with offering constructive challenges to senior managers
  • Ability to not only understand and be comfortable with the detail but also to summarise key aspects for management consumption
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement approach to work by identifying areas for process improvements and implementing robust solutions
