General Role Overview

The Senior Engineer, EE System Integration & Validation is responsible for providing support for the system hardware integration and debugging issues.  The Engineer will provide support in systems engineering and analysis for complex systems development and contribute to team activities during product life cycle development through validation and issue reporting.  The Engineer will collaborate with the team and provide solutions for the test system and test cases development and research best practices and hardware and software tools for the system integration and validation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform system-level and vehicle-level testing and validation of Low Voltage (LV) Electrical Systems, including Infotainment, Telematics, UI / UX, OTA, and other functions.

  • Perform manual execution of test cases using test bench environment, and report issues in bug report system.

  • Design and build wiring harnesses to support electrical testing of components and systems.

  • Capture and analyze CAN messages and logs to provide detailed information of test results.

  • Prepare and support test case development from the requirements, working with the software development team to understand the requirements.

  • Support component and vehicle level integration, from prototype to production.

  • Support electro-mechanical builds and bringing up of testing assets and prototype vehicles.

  • Support the development of test environments and test benches for testing systems, sub-systems, and components.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.  Master of Science is preferred.

  • 4 to 8 years of experience in automotive EE System Integration and Validation.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies

  • Experience with Infotainment and Telematics.

  • Experience with CAN, CAN FD, LIN, UART, and Ethernet communication protocols.

  • Experience with CANalyzer, CANoe, Vehicle Spy, and other relevant tools.

  • Experience with scripting in CAPL and Python.

  • Experience with operating dSPACE and HIL virtualization systems.

  • Experience with electronic lab equipment and sensors, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and programmable power supplies.

  • Experience with hardware wiring and debugging network issues.

  • Experience with test automation using test automation tools is a plus.

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and ASPICE process or any other software process.

  • Ability to be innovative and creative while working in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, as required.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
