Senior Coordinator, Transportation

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Senior Coordinator, Transportation based in our Conover, North Carolina office.

This position oversees the day to day operations of the Transportation Business office.  Responsible for managing the NASCAR promotional vehicle fleet, including Ford, Chevrolet and Toyota (including ordering, maintenance and tag/title/registration work).  Ensures all driver approval forms are completed and database is current and up-to-date. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise day to day activities of the Transportation office and shop.
  • Develops and implements financial and business control policies for the Transportation Department.
  • Assists Managing Director, Transportation in scheduling driver travel and logistical support, coordinating directly with Logistics and Training Department colleagues to ensure compliance with company travel policies.
  • Assists Managing Director, Transportation with scheduling driver support for all NASCAR series.
  • Work directly with vendors and service providers supporting NASCAR Transportation to ensure timely delivery of materials and services in accordance with established agreements.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures regarding tools and equipment, including active tracking of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for all Transportation Department assets.
  • Develops recommendations for capital planning needs.
  • Determines technical enhancements to increase efficiency.
  • Assists Managing Director, Transportation in selecting and hiring vendors, contractors, building maintenance, and other professional services and ensures compliance with contract terms.
  • Maintains and controls various corporate charge accounts for the office.
  • Responsible for distributing general information to the staff and securing temporary staff as needed.
  • Manages and/or executes special projects.
  • Oversees all DOT compliance requirements and standards for drivers and vehicles registered under the NASCAR NCDOT program, providing regular updates to Managing Director, Transportation.
  • Manages Company promotional vehicle orders and delivery (including Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota).
  • Ensure all driver approval forms are completed and database is current and up-to-date.
  • Manage leases, maintenance and replacement of NASCAR fleet vehicles.
  • Coordinate any purchase of NASCAR fleet vehicles by NASCAR or employees.
  • Ensure all tag, title and registration requirements remain current on NASCAR fleet vehicles.
  • Coordinate with Risk Management on the NASCAR fleet vehicles as appropriate.

Required skills / experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of Human Resources benefits experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
