Senior Business Manager – HPA

With a strong orderbook and a growing number of exciting new project opportunities in the High Performance Automotive (HPA) sector, we are looking for someone to join us as a Senior Business Manager. Leading the creation of proposals and delivery of complex projects for high profile customers, you’ll own the business case from start to finish. Our customers are some of the world’s most prestigious organisations in the automotive sector, so you’ll be experienced and comfortable having conversations with both Engineers and Senior Executives and will establish, maintain and manage strong working relationships with new and existing customers.

HPA is an area of growth and the future vision of Xtrac, so you’ll help maintain a long term forecast of new sales and provide business development support to achieve our departmental and business-wide strategic objectives. You’ll have a commercial mind and take a proactive approach to the integration of commercial activities with project management processes to ensure successful outcomes.
This is an exciting role with a lot of opportunity that will place you at the heart of Xtrac’s strategy for growth in the HPA sector.

Due to the high-profile nature of HPA you must have experience managing customer relationships and project requirements as well as leading internal cross-departmental teams. Having previous involvement with project management and a good understanding of project life cycles is essential.

To be successful you’ll also have:

  • Strong background in Automotive, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Degree educated in an Engineering related subject is preferred as you’ll already have the core understanding of the industry practices and procedures, but we’re also open to being qualified by experience
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional customer management skills
  • Experience using an ERP system – we use Epicor, and full training will be provided
  • Experience of project planning and managing projects in an engineering context
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment and to tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with commercial proposals, contracts and negotiation
  • Experience in a similar role within a busy commercial environment

 

You’ll also need to be flexible to travel to customer sites internationally (Covid-19 permitting) on occasion.
