MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for one of the team's race car at the event.
- You will assure an effective communication with the driver, engineers and mechanics.
- In this role you will be in charge of vehicle set-up, run plan optimization and direct interaction with the driver.
- Organize and perform all pre-event preparation work.
- Maintaining the vehicle set-up database and determining the starting set-up.
- Preparation of a week-end timetable, test item lists, and job lists.
- You will work effectively with controls, performance, tyre and strategy engineers as well as factory based engineers.
- Ensure legality of the car at race event.
- Use simulation tools before and during the event to maximise performance.
- Perform post-event data analysis and comprehensive post-event reporting.
- Create analysis tools and techniques to understand and develop car performance.
- Develop, document and apply best practices for legal, safe and reliable car operation.
- Organise and attend relevant rig tests providing engineering support.
- Support and assit the team during the DEV sessions with performance analysis and writing reports.
PROFILE
- Masters degree in mechanical, automotive related engineering discipline
- Previous race engineering experience in FE/F1/WEC – minimum of 3 years
- Excellent knowledge of vehicle dynamic, tyres, control system
- Proficient with data analysis, previous experience of Atlas an advantage
- Knowledge of analysis software and Matlab, good knowledge of Wintax
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good understanding of lap time simulation tools and simulator environments
- Fluent in English
