Job Location

  • Manhattan Beach, CA (Hybrid Work – In Office and Remote) is preferred.

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious Purchasing Associate Director, Electrified Powertrain who will work closely with Global Commodity Purchasing. Reporting to the VP of Purchasing, your role will be to manage a team of buyers and ensure we are fully sourced, manage supplier relationships, develop sourcing strategies that will meet program deliverables for cost, timing, and quality. Responsibilities include developing sourcing timelines, managing deliverables for milestones and providing status reports to leadership and executives. A dedicated team ethic with the ability to interact at all levels and across business boundaries is required to be successful in this position.

 

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the purchasing EV powertrain systems such as Electric Motors, Inverters, Drive Modules, Vehicle Control Units, Power Distribution Units, HVAC/Thermal systems

  • Manage the success of the Fisker vehicle programs by delivering a sourcing strategy that meets program objectives

  • Be responsible for the overall sourcing timing - critical path, milestones, key dependencies to program milestones and deliverables

  • Drive the program sourcing process in conjunction with the relevant leadership and functions.

  • Ensure sourcing is complete and on track to support program milestones

  • Ensure readiness for prototype, pre-production and mass production and service phases of the lifecycle

  • Be responsible for delivering to targets and working with VP of Purchasing, Finance for Part Piece Cost, ED&D and Tooling

  • Be responsible for program performance measurements, reporting, sourcing metrics (cost, timing) and supplier risk assessment/management for mass production

  • Aggressively and proactively manage risk across the program timeline

 

Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • 7-10 years of experience in automotive industry either at OEM or Tier 1 supplier

  • o   level delivering high dollar value sourcing strategies

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing and Commodity Purchasing)

  • EV procurement experience, vehicle launch, and OEM experience necessary

  • Successfully negotiated multi-million-dollar contracts on programs for OEM or Tier 1 suppliers

  • Experience taking multiple challenging programs to market as Purchasing Program Director or Commodity Director at OEM or Tier 1 supplier

  • Experience with new vehicle product launch, program execution and post-launch cost reduction strategies

  • Experience working closely with all functions of an enterprise (VLE, Commodity Purchasing, Engineering, Finance and Manufacturing)

  • Excellent communication (written, spoken) at all levels of the enterprise

  • Best in class cross-functional interaction skills and a history of driving teams to perform to highly demanding schedules/challenges

  • Ability to coordinate the actions of a large multifaceted organization. A deep understanding of the multiple phases of a large program, how to measure performance in those stages, communicating to Leadership and staff at large

  • Ability to travel as needed

Additional Requirements

Must be willing to travel both domestically, as well as internationally, as required

 

Expected Salary Range: $101,000-281,000 a year.

Additional compensation: Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker’s equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

Benefits: Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.
The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
