At the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars driven by seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton and rising star George Russell.

 

The Team has set a new benchmark for Formula One success during the sport’s current Hybrid era, winning consecutive Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and the Constructors’ Championship in 2021.

 

The role

 

We are looking for an experienced automation/orchestration developer to join our IT department and deliver modern digital solutions to business process improvement requests. The successful candidate will be part of a growing centre of competency delivering business process simplification, with the aim of eradicating waste and inefficiencies through orchestration of services. This role will enable transformational change across many business functions or domains.

 

As our Process Orchestration Developer your responsibilities will include:

  • Capture and analyse automation requirements and constraints expressed by diverse business users.

  • Collaborate with colleagues of the Architecture and the wider IT team to define orchestration solutions.

  • Use tools and methodologies to create representations for process orchestrations, functions, and user interfaces when user interactions are needed.

  • Specify or develop API, services or endpoint when missing, for systems involved in these integrations, with attention to deployment, performance, and maintainability.

  • Investigate existing and emerging languages or frameworks, ensuring appropriate technology is used in each project.

  • Embrace the continuous integration process and platform, and the observability principles.

  • Report on progress to project managers and/or business requestors.

  • Ensure developments meet all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.

  • Provide 2nd line expertise to the Tech Support team, troubleshooting and fixing complex issues.

Technical Skills

  • Experience in software development and coding in various object-oriented languages (C#, Java, etc.).

  • Experience of UI/UX design.

  • Experience in developing automations with PowerAutomate and PowerApps.

  • Experience in developing APIs, and event-driven solutions.

  • Familiarity with Spring Boot, HTML/CSS, REST, JavaScript (Node.js, React.js), Azure DevOps & pipelines.

  • Knowledge of BPMN and business process modelling.

  • Knowledge of Tibco BusinessWorks, Camunda, Automation Anywhere RPA, Python, Kafka will be a bonus.

  • Understanding of software quality assurance principles, and of the Agile methodology.

We are looking for a candidate with a MSc/MA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field. You will have the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships and be results orientated. An organised individual keen to use their effective communication skills to influence and negotiate implementing innovative best practices. Working in a comparable role in an enterprise environment would stand you in-good-stead for this opportunity.

 

You will have the ability to adapt, look ahead and embrace a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is a must.
