You will be working on the rFactor 2 physics engine, implementing new elements and optimizing existing ones. As a physics engineer we expect you to understand rigid body physics models, aerodynamics, collision detection algorithms, internal combustion and electric engines, various electronics that are typically used in modern racing cars as well as an in-depth knowledge of tyre models.

Studio 397 works as a distributed team from home, physically scattered, so you will need to be comfortable working with team members in different time zones.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience developing C and C++ software in soft real-time environments as well as a background in vehicle dynamics and very strong math skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • To analyze, design, implement, document and test code as part of the development team working on rFactor 2.
  • To work closely with our vehicle dynamics team on physics features and tooling.
  • To collaborate with the development team and other departments to ensure features get properly implemented both from a technical and functional point of view.
  • To proactively strive to improve our overall processes and development practices.

Requirements

  • C/C++
  • Degree in Physics
  • 5+ years of experience in vehicle dynamics
  • Git and LFS
  • Atlassian Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Bamboo
  • Microsoft Windows, Linux
