Performance Media Manager

Purpose of the Role –

A specialist, hands-on role, with exposure across the whole marketing mix, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of our SEM, display and social strategies, owning paid marketing channels and staying up to date with digital marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies to enhance core business.

We have grown our audience to more than 61 million monthly active users and over 20 million social media followers. We have sold more than one million copies of our NASCAR series of video games and market tickets and hospitality experiences to more than 100 events per year.

 

Motorsport Network’s events division is a fast-growing specialist provider of motorsport tickets, experiences, travel, hospitality, and exclusive events, including Le Mans 24 Hours, Formula 1 and Moto GP races, WRC rallies, the Isle of Man TT and many more.

We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial leader to join our international team, expand our portfolio of partner events and to grow the hospitality, experiences, and travel arm of our business.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

Working as a key member of the marketing team you will:

 

  • Own implementation of our SEM, display and social strategies
  • Own budget spend in line with marketing plan and deliver associated sales targets (c. £40-60k pcm)
  • Work directly with the content, platform and event teams to ascertain the keywords opportunities
  • Undertake regular keyword research to build robust keyword bid strategies
  • Ensure continuity with the site to optimise site performance, and build best-in-class activation
  • Sales performance analysis and cCeation of in-house dashboard, reporting and associated learnings
  • Monitor and analyse campaign performance and own understanding on best practice
  • Build a robust understanding on the digital channels, the consumer and their associated journeys, supporting the understanding of Motorsport Tickets customer base
  • Research and test partnerships with new suppliers to expand our reach and/or lower CPA
  • Collaborate with marketing teammates to maintain a consistent brand voice and message across all paid programs
  • Stay up to date with digital marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies to keep us ahead, including updates to social media marketing, attribution, and programmatic media buying
  • Monitor market intelligence and keep track on competitor movement and market situation

 

Skills, Knowledge and Attributes Required:

 

We have a friendly and relaxed working environment in small team, so personality is important. Of course, this must however be coupled with the creativity, skills and desire to perform to the very highest of standards.

 

  • Digital Marketing Degree educated
  • 5 years’+ experience in a fast-paced ecommerce environment within travel or live event sectors
  • Data-driven, a commercial mindset with good relationship skills and powers of persuasion
  • Excellent use of Google Analytics
  • A proven track record of building successful SEM, display and social activation
  • Good ability to think on their feet and solve problems
  • Travel agency and event team experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the various paid marketing channels and technologies, including paid search, retargeting, social network advertising (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and more), and content distribution and placement networks
  • Strong organisational, project skills with excellent team-working skills
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a diverse workload and working under pressure
  • Have experience of briefing technical teams to change website architecture to improve customer journey
  • Interest and/or experience in motorsport is desirable but not fundamental

 

How will Success in This Role Be Measured?

 

  • Successful implementation of paid digital marketing strategies to support key series, increase SEO reach, improve channel performance and grow website traffic
  • Developing a clear understanding of CPA per customer across channels and the overall marketing funnel of our audience
  • Develop improved keyword bid strategies and regularly report on successes and developments
  • Implement processes to regularly report to the marketing team and wider business paid channel performance
  • Identification and adoption of new techniques and technologies to enhance business performance
