General Summary:

 

Reporting to the Stores & Parts Supervisor this role is based in Banbury, UK. The role coordinates the activities of the factory & Race team to ensure an effective parts supply to all the events within a car programme. Working with various departments and technical partners this role will ensure components are delivered correctly and timely to trackside based on the project BOM.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Follow and implement parts policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage supply of key components from our technical partner
  • Ownership and management of our ERP and Lifing software with the ability to train and guide others on the effective use of the software within the factory and race team.
  • Ability to navigate CAD and to understand technical drawings.
  • Coordinate the distribution of parts in alignment with the approved allocation and build spec documents and feedback any required changes.
  • Takes an enthusiastic approach to satisfying the parts needs of the Race Team, RTS and sub assembly teams.
  • Confidence and knowledge to feedback any changes which could reduce cost and/or improve the supply of components.
  • Open and honest communication style. Encouraging an atmosphere of mutual trust between factory and race team.
  • Collate and report data relating to part attrition and make recommendations for stocking policies per part to ensure cost effective and timely supply to meet demands
  • Work with the Current Car Programme Manager to provide predicted required quantities for each project/event and mitigate any risks due to parts shortages.
  • For car build and upgrades, actively checks the status of each part and informs others where action is required to achieve the delivery date target.
  • Replenishes travelling stores to an agreed level in between events. Informs PMO team of any shortages and keeps track of delivery status.
  • Manage the turnaround of structural and non-structural components between events.
  • Whilst on event, is responsible for the receiving and issuing of parts from the travelling stores.
  • Provide support to the factory stores team for picking, kitting and packing of stock for events.
  • Creation and management of component service schedules to allow for project realization and cost mitigation
  • Travel to tests, races and events with the race team as required and an active member of the pit stop crew.
  • Collaborate with the Stores & Parts team to ensure the correct parts are issued and transacted in real time within the ERP and Lifing software.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the Stores & Parts Supervisor or their designee.

Education and Work Experience:

 

  • GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required. Further education including Trade School, Apprenticeship or University Degree desired.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience within a parts and supply chain, preferably in Motorspor
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet liability/casualty insurance requirements.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Good technical background in car/ mechanical design / operation / build / preparation / car performance.
  • Needs to be proactive, flexible, organized and able to prioritize own work load.
  • Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
  • Work well in a team environment with personnel at all levels.
  • A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.

Equipment and Applications:

 

  • Solid computer knowledge, experience in Microsoft Office products, PLM systems (3DExperience) and Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Work Environment Physical Demands:

 

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role will require  domestic & international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

 

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
