Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, MSO you will be responsible for delivery of the sales and commercial objectives for McLaren Automotive’s Heritage department. You will achieve this through delivery of McLaren’s Heritage strategy and by supporting clients in further enhancing their existing vehicles through vehicle maintenance, upgrade, restoration & certification services.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Support development of the business, sales and product strategies for Heritage, implementing a suite of products and tools to increase sales penetration and deliver industry benchmark levels of customer experience globally.
  • Provide an end to end service for clients and retailers, including full customer liaison and support, pricing, quotations, deposits, order scheduling and change management, invoicing and all associated activities.
  • Manage the delivery of revenue, cost, profit and customer satisfaction targets. Initiate actions wherever possible or necessary to improve the profitability of the department in both the short and long term.
  • In conjunction with the Workshop Manager, manage the workflow planning of Heritage and pre owned bespoke orders through the MSO workshop.
  • Working with the Global PR & Marketing teams, support delivery and execution of the Heritage communications and experiential strategy to increase brand awareness, customer engagement and achievement of sales objectives.
  • Manage the Heritage relationship, including delivery of cross functionally aligned processes and management reporting, between MSO HQ & regional sales offices.
  • Manage and support key internal and external stakeholders, up to and including Executive level.
  • Develop and maintain the archives for Heritage models, as required.
  • Manage relevant McLaren Heritage fleet vehicles for internal and external use, including servicing and maintenance.
  • Management of a cross functionally aligned vehicle sourcing & brokerage programme.
  • Budget management for the heritage department including revenue, marketing and operating costs within the business planning process.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Full understanding of the classic car market with a proven track record in heritage sales / heritage product development for a globally recognised OEM or similar.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive communicator, able to build and maintain credible relationships with clients globally.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with excellent attention to detail and experience of developing financial business cases for Executive approval.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical competency when discussing mechanical/bespoke option requests from clients.
  • Self motivated, creative and structured problem solving and decision making ability.
  • Strategic thinker who can build long term and robust business plans.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English – fluency in another language is desirable but not essential.
