The Position:
We are currently seeking a Head of Infrastructure and Services to service both trackside operations, the Grove campus and remote/cloud-based infrastructure. This team will be responsible for the development and maintenance of multiple tech-stacks including associated operational user policies and processes.
Role Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the CIO, the Head of Infrastructure & Services is responsible for the management of the IT Race Operations, IT Support and IT Infrastructure teams, including staff, processes and systems.
- Shape, maintain and motivate an efficient but high-performing team of IT SMEs, across multiple disciplines.
- Responsible for developing and implementing the IT Infrastructure strategy across the team.
- Develop and own all infrastructure related processes, documentation and procedures.
- Working with other technology teams, develop and support a standardised set of tech stacks servicing the needs of Data & Analytics, Technology & Research and Software & Development.
- Manage all aspects of internal IT systems, including deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading and support of multiple technologies to varying degrees, including but not limited to:
- Active Directory & O365
- Public and Private Cloud Infrastructure
- Virtualisation & Containerisation
- Server / High Performance Compute
- Networks (wired & wireless)
- Telecommunications
- End-user Devices & Peripherals
- Establish suitable SLAs/OLAs & OKRs based on internal and external requirements.
- Provide a customer service orientated support function to all users, including fault resolution, root cause analysis, problem tracking, reporting and knowledgebase.
- Develop and maintain an efficient set of change management processes.
- Maximise the efficiency and performance of systems through the use of various APM/NPM tools.
- Manage IT related assets, including lifecycle management and hardware/software obsolescence.
As a Head of Infrastructure and Services, you will:
- Be able to demonstratable experience in previous similar infrastructure, engineering or architecture roles.
- Have excellent technical knowledge across and array of technologies and platforms, including but not limited to:
- Active Directory & O365
- Cloud Architecture/Engineering (Preferably both AWS and Azure)
- Virtualisation/Containerisation
- Routing/Switching/Firewalling/Wireless
- Storage including SAN/vSAN
- Monitoring & Automation
- Voice & Video Conferencing (VoIP)
- Application Performance Management (APM)
- Network Performance Management (NPM)
- Have excellent leadership and management skills, with a collaborative and mentoring based approach.
- Have outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to successfully convey highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
